Creative Collaboration
“Even when we are meditating we are trying to find our sound in the silence…”.
I am recalling the words of the artist who translated our conversation about my vision and goals for health coaching into sound. King Kwality, also known as Solomon Denard, is the owner and lead producer of 3rd Ear Entertainment. Solomon captured the spirit and message of my health coaching practice in a 3 minute and 29 second instrumental.
The piece centers the audio logo “Rise and Thrive, It’s 629!” You can listen to a short snippet at the bottom of my home page here. Two weeks after our initial conversation, a M4A audio file appeared in my inbox with instructions to listen and offer feedback. My initial reaction was a mix of excitement, gratitude and surprise! I was encouraged by many to create a health coaching practice that aligned with my personal experience and training. I have learned that my creative journey has inspired others to create in their own lives, and we are all continuing to inspire one another in amazing new ways!
Solomon’s training and musical ear allowed him to find a rhythm in my words and then translate my vision into a beautiful melody. I was curious about his process, so I asked. Solomon described both the technical and artistic aspects of his process in the studio. He described listening to my story, experimenting with different sounds and tempos, finding the cadence, layering, incorporating strings, synthesizing and a lot of other things! Solomon also utilized visualization and drew upon the aesthetic of the website and Health Integration 629’s Areas of Focus. I was intrigued as Solomon noted that his process also includes developing a foundation of trust with clients through the editing and refining phase to produce a sound that is just right.
During health coaching sessions, I am also listening, and I notice when a client lights up. In addition to their stated goals, I am trained to tune into when a client’s heart speaks and support the integration of their own lived wisdom with new information and opportunities to experiment. King Kwality of 3rd Ear Entertainment did this for me in one area of my business, and I am full of gratitude for the gift of creative collaboration.
